How Many Islands Make Up Cape Verde?

How many islands make up Cape Verde

Cape Verde (also known as Cabo Verde) is an archipelago of 10 inhabited islands and five islets located 500km off the west coast of Africa. Although these small islands lack natural resources and are susceptible to droughts, Cabo Verde has managed to achieve political and economic stability over its history.

Many Cape Verdeans migrate away from their homeland in search of work elsewhere, where they can earn enough money to send back home and live comfortably. However, some choose to remain in Cape Verde to lead fulfilling lives and raise families.

Sal is the most visited island in Cape Verde, followed by Boa Vista and Santiago. Charter flights often land directly into Sal from other destinations around Cape Verde; however, there are a variety of other exciting activities and destinations to discover as well.

Sao Vicente is another popular tourist destination that draws plenty of tourists. The island offers plenty to see and do, plus its tropical carnival celebrations take place annually in February.

Cape Verde’s climate is tropical, with daytime highs ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius (70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit). Nights may be cool at times, but most days are comfortable enough for swimming or hiking throughout the year.
